Multiple installations for Falcon 4
In general,
If you feel uncomfortable with editing the registry, please don't do it, this procedure is meant for making multiple installs in a simple way, but I can not take responsibility for made mistakes.

1. Copy Falcon 4 folder
You have Falcon 4 installed here including SP3: C:\Microprose\Falcon4
Copy the whole folder and rename it, so it reads something like: C:\Microprose\Hornet4
2. Export regfile
Go to Start, run, and type: regedit
Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microprose/Falcon/4.0
Rightclick the 4.0 folder there and click "export".
Export the regfile to desktop.
Close registry
.
3. Edit regfile
Copy this regfile on your desktop and rightclick the copy and select "edit".
You will see these lines:
"baseDir"="C:\\MicroProse\\Falcon4"
"objectDir"="C:\\MicroProse\\Falcon4\\terrdata\\objects"
"misctexDir"="C:\\MicroProse\\Falcon4\\terrdata\\misctex"
"theaterDir"="C:\\MicroProse\\Falcon4\\terrdata\\korea"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\F4Patch\Settings]
"F4Exe"="C:\\MicroProse\\Falcon4\\FalconSP.exe"
Change all of the Falcon4 into Hornet4 so it reads:
"baseDir"="C:\\MicroProse\\Hornet4"
"objectDir"="C:\\MicroProse\\Hornet4\\terrdata\\objects"
"misctexDir"="C:\\MicroProse\\Hornet4\\terrdata\\misctex"
"theaterDir"="C:\\MicroProse\\Hornet4\\terrdata\\korea"
.
Save this copy regfile and call it Hornet4
.
4. Shortcuts to select and launch
Make a folder on your desktop called FLY (or whatever name)
Put the 2 regfiles in that folder.
Make a shortcut to the FalconSP.exe in both the Falcon4 and the Hornet4 folder and copy to the FLY folder
Now you have 2 regfiles, Falcon4 and Hornet4 and 2 shortcuts, Falcon4 and Hornet4 in your FLY folder.
.
5. Fly 2 separate installs
This is important, whenever you fly, first click the regfile of the version, and then the shortcut that goes with it.
If you click the regfile it will ask if you are sure you want to add the info to the registry, say yes. It will say succesfully added to the registry.
Launch the accompanying shortcut/game
.
Always keep the original regfile somewhere safe so you can always go back to the original. When using F4patch with multiple installs always point F4patch to the right exe, because many times it will point to the other.
